Welcome to the Woodbury Breakfast Rotary Club's web-site!
Did you know that Rotary is the oldest and largest service club in the world? With more than 32,000 Rotary Clubs in over 200 countries, 32,000 club members represent a cross-section of the community's finest men and women.
Our club was chartered on June 12, 1990 and we still have several charter members attending our meetings.
Rotary encourages high ethical standards in one's profession and respect for all worthy vocations. Rotarians abide by "The Four-Way Test" of the things we think, say or do:
1) Is it the TRUTH?
2) Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3) Will it BUILD GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Our club ends every meeting with the members reciting the Four-Way Test. And, over the years, we have added a 5th one........Will it be FUN?
Fun is an important element in making our club what it is today. Many of our activities include some fun social events and fund-rasing.
At Christmas time we have a Holiday Social where we raise money for our community Christmas (Holiday) giving. In addition to helping families during the holidays, we also join with the Woodbury Rotary Club in a Christmas For Kids project. Rotary members from both clubs take approximately 30 children from needy families shoppping for clothes, boots, coats, etc. and then to breakfast with Santa where they all receive a book. Among all the projects that we do yearly, this is probably one of our club's favorite.
Club members have many opportunities for humanitarian service, both locally and internationally. Woodbury Breakfast Rotary supports or sponsors many community projects such as the Fall Festival Parade, Woodbury Little League, Woodbury Arts Festival, GWCM Food Bank, to name a few. We also prepare meals once or twice a year for the Ronald McDonald House in Camden.
Every month, we honor a "Student of the Month" from Woodbury High School Senior Class. At the end of the school year we select a "Student of the Year" and at graduation they receive a monetary scholarship from our club.
On an international level, we have sponsored exchange students to Poland and Russia in the past, we support Rotary International's Polio Plus project, donate to orphanages, support Rotary's clean water projects, have sent money to help earthquake, tsunami and hurricane victims, etc.
Our club is always looking for ways to help others and to make a difference in someone's life.
If you would like to join our efforts and become a member of Woodbury Breakfast Rotary or visit our club, please come out to a meeting on either the 2nd or 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:15 AM. We meet at the Hollywood Cafe, Rt. 45 and Elm St. in Woodbury Heights, NJ.
Hope to see you!
